Morning everyone 

Some may remember back in January I brought a 55 plate 2.2 Toyota Avensis Estate (my X5 was having open heart surgery) as a cheap dog wagon. The car was/is an ex Taxi with 184k on the clock. It was a Trade in at a local dealer it had an MOT to August and I paid £670. Bargain.

Some would have run away from the mileage but I took the view it was someones livelihood so they would look after it (trusting old fool I am). I also only needed it to last a month or so. Yes it had a heater issue and after reading all the horror stories of Head Gasket failure I thought "well it only needs to get through a few weeks. After driving it for a week and seeing no loss of coolant and no over heating I discovered the problem was with the heater control some ingenuity and a DIY repair and a working heater.

Well we kept the Avensis the family and friends now have a car to use when they visit (no more taking Dads X5) and it just keeps going mileage is now 196K.

Yesterday it flew through it's MOT with only 2 advisories a perished drive shaft gator and an inner track rod joint we will sort those soon.

So I am really chuffed with the Avensis great little car.
