First Warranty Claim - PiP Infotainment System

Hi all. Long time no post.

So after having had her for 2 years my PiPs infotainment system has decided to give up the ghost. iPod isn't recognised, bluetooth doesn't work, all satnav saved locations lost, and resets speed warning to km/h after every restart. Dealer has finally diagnosed as a failed satnav unit (even though the satnav still works) and is replacing it on Thursday. Fingers crossed this fixes the issue as I'm missing having to use CDs and listen to the radio. Normally always use my iPod.

On a positive note however, I've just hit my first 1000mile tank of fuel. Will be interesting to see MPG when I fill up next (lost it all on the trip when the dealer disconnected the Battery with investigation works).

Hi Jon

Did you back up your SatNav locations?

I was wondering if you were ok, guessing busy after move?

Look out for a PM I sent a while ago about my Gen 4.

Regards, Pete

still a way to go to beat my 1500 miles in a 2007 Gen 2 plug-in conversion Prius... [complete with space saver under the boot floor :) ]

Hi Pete,

Yes very busy with the move and life in general to be honest.

Prius satnav system is now fixed and seems to be up and running again as usual :)

Total fill was 1074 miles, 43.1L - 113.3 MPG

Rather pleased with that. Here's to seeing if I can beat it on the next tank before the weather starts to turn cooler.

  • 2 weeks later...

The highest number of miles that I achieved between refuels was 2,387 (Bought fuel 30 June 2015 then next refuel was 21 November 2015).   This was aided by 11 mile round trip journeys in the main covered by daily recharge.

My lifetime fuel economy results (over about 47 months of ownership) are per attached, ie. in hybrid mode 63mpg, in EV mode about 2.3p per mile electricity costs.

Lifetime overall petrol consumption: 23,327 miles divided by 98 gallons = 238 mpg (Plus recharging costs).

I look forward to filling my current tank, although about another 3-4 weeks to go at this rate. 6 bars remaining, about 470 miles done and 140mpg indicated :)
