Hi guys, I'm planning out an engine swap for my e9 Corolla liftback. I've managed to get my hands on an ex- Corolla compressor 2zzge with the supercharger. The engine came with an ecu but no keys or key reader-ring - so the immobiliser will stop anything working.

The guy I got it from is looking for a master key (car was scrapped). I was wondering if I have the key can a second key reader be used to read it and relay signal to ecu? Wasn't sure if it needs coding.

Other than that I think only option is aftermarket ecu as compressor must have custom map on it, otherwise I believe I could put a JDM ecu in there for a naturally aspirated one (no immobiliser). Spoke to Toyota dealer and they can't apply fresh factory spec maps to an ecu apparently either, otherwise I'd get an eBay set.

Anyone got any other ideas? All advice gratefully received!

The ECU would be programmed for the compressor ie Fuel and air ratios etc. as the ECU will be programmed to get maximum power out of the engine with forced induction compared to a naturally aspirated T Sport. It also activates the electro magnetic clutch on the Super Charger when your press the accelerator and when other conditions are met (Speed, engine temp, TPS)  The immobiliser I can't say unless you get the new keys programmed to that ECU and/or the Theft/Alarm ECU which is behind the dials above the steering shaft, not sure how they are programmed TBH. I'm pretty sure the Theft ECU is linked to the main ECU is some way.
