Touch 2 Reversing Camera Connection

Hi

Hope someone may be able to help with this:

I am removing the Touch unit (non navigation) from my wife's 2013 Yaris and upgrading it to a Touch 2 with the Navigation module added, I have fitted this and everything works exactly as it should apart from the reversing camera.

The connector for the camera on the old Touch unit is 16 pin with only 5 of these being in use, unfortunately the Touch 2 unit has 2 spare connections on the back which are 1x 24 pin and 1x 12 pin, could anyone let me know which of these 2 connectors is for the camera please and ideally which pins are used?

The bottom picture is a bit fuzzy but I think you'll find that that is a plug with female connections and the 5 'pins' are actually blanks (to key the plug so it can't be put into an incorrect socket.

Hi Mike, sorry about the picture quality, the bottom picture shows the current plug that fits into the old Touch head unit with 16 pins, unfortunately this doesn't fit the new Touch 2 head unit although all the other connections match and everything works okay except the reversing camera.

The top picture shows the back of the Touch 2 head unit with the spare 12 & 24 pin sockets, would you have any idea which of these is for the reversing camera please?

Thanks Mike.... Sorted, the installation manual shows it quite clearly, its the 24 pin connector , now just got to find a matching 24 pin plug....

Hello pbaker101,

I have the same issue as you, I am replacing a Touch 1 radio with Touch 2 radio and I have the OEM harness from the car for the backup camera which is 16PINS.

Have you been able to solve this by replacing the 16PINS connector with a 24PINS connector, and connect the 5 cables from the harness in the same position on the 24PINS connector? or did you do something else?

I really appreceiate if you could answer, as I am not able to find any other solutin or similar issue online :D

Thanks in advance,

I am just doing the same with a 2013/2014 Verso.

For me, everything works except for the reversing camera and the "CAR" functions (consumption, distance etc)

I also have the 16 pin plug with the same 5 pins wired in.

Did anyone know which pins to connect to on the 12 or 24 pin socket?

I don't know why, but the "CAR" functions started to work.

I wired the donor car's 24 pin plug with the wires from my 16 pin plug, connecting to the pins in the top left corner of the socket (looking at the head unit). But the reversing camera doesn't work and the unit doesn't switch to a blank screen when I go into reverse. Does anybody know what I'm doing wrong?

Hi mate, try the top right, 4 wires connect to the right, top and bottom right. I think this will resolve it. ☺

Hi, I've currently trying to install 2017 head unit to a 2013 verso. Is there a solution for this to convert a 16 pin plug to the 12 pin socket pictured?
