Corolla Verso 1.8vvti multi-mode auto

Hello, I just bought a 2005 Corolla Verso 1.8 VVTi multi-mode automatic and and overall it's a decent car. I'm a bit neurotic about these singing and dancing gearboxes and have noticing a slight judder when the clutch takes up in 1st & 2nd. It's the sort of sensation I'd expect from a normal manual gearbox/clutch when the clutch is in the very early stages of wearing out. Anyone else experienced this or anything similar? The car has done 92k and been very well maintained by Toyota BTW. Thanks for any useful info. :D
