Hi is there any difference  in the hybrid system  fitted on a auris 2015,to the latest  2016 model.

Looking at getting a 2015 auris  excel hatchback

The Auris received its mid-life facelift in the Summer of 2015. The 2015 facelift had changes to the hybrid system for better economy and lower CO2 emissions. So a 2015 pre-facelift is different to the 2015 post-facelift.

The 2016 Auris has had no further changes.

I think that both retune differences are pretty minor, and unless you were used to driving them, you probably wouldn't notice.

They don't put it into different tax categories or affect the London charge.

The (mid-2015) facelift interior changes are probably the most significant, including the detail of the small info screen and the Nav system possibilities, as well as different upholstery options.

The facelift actually has a few other notable differences, which I didn't spot in the linked Toyota blog post.

Facelift brings a Traction Control Off switch (think 'get me unstuck from this snow/mud' and definitely not squealy wheelies) and a spacesaver spare as standard but loses (as standard) the bootspace 'decking' that gives a flat floor with the back seat folded down.

You can get the spacesaver or the decking as extras, but you can't get the TC switch (or the different Nav system, if that was important to you) on the earlier car. There is a fiddle to turn off TC on older hybrids, but it is a fiddle. The need arises because the hybrid's TC computer says no to spinning wheels, and flatly refuses to allow that to happen, ever.

Me? I'm very happy with my pre-facelift car. I've bought a spacesaver and learned the TC fiddle. No facelift-envy here!

What is the Tc fiddle?

Just wondering if it would be the same for my 2010 Auris

I was referring to "Certification Mode". (It might apply to the older Auris, but I really don't know.)

Thanks again eygo.
