vielside_mr2....

I have already got an uprated clutch in. Got it fitted last week.

I myslef are quite mechanically retarded.. lol

I'm most probably going for the stage3 turbo from fensport.

Along with Metal HG

Larger Injectors

Water Injection

Forged Pistons

ARP Bolts/Studs

That should cover it nicely.

Should hopefully get 360bhp +

How much did the cluth cost you inc fitting?, and where did you get it?

Also are you getting an intercooler?, or are you getting the water injection instead of the IC?

What sort of boost do you think you will be running mate?

Oh and when ur done, are ya going to the POD ;)

lol dont ask!

The charge cooler kit will completly do away with the IC, the stock system is Air to Air, the chargecooler is Water to air - so no need to combine them...if you did you'd increase the lag, no point.

In terms of fitting costs, i'm not sure at this stage, it shouldn't be to difficult, which means it shouldn't be too expensive.

This kit should be as good if not better that the best aftermarket IC's on the market, and should be quite competitive on the price too.... all in all it should be a nice piece of kit.

The clutch cost me somthing like £350 I think. Fitting.. not too sure as I got some other bits and bobs ( LSD, flywheel ) added to the car. They originally quoted me £150+VAT to fit the clutch.

I got the clutch from dpmotorsports

Yeah.. would be using WI instead of IC.

Should be running 1.5bar + .

When it's done I'll happily take it to any track ! :)

Water injection instead of intercooler?????? its not possible - don't mess with my head today Jim!!!

erm... yeah... lol.. I dunno.

Mr Fensport said I would need WI .. that's all I know.. lol

WI runs along side the IC, a fine jet of water is sprayed into the intake air to cool it that bit further, its usually tapped in to the aluminium pipework somewhere on its way to the inlet manifold..... there will be provision for WI built into the charge cooler kit, which is nice...... we also have a WI kit on the way sometime this year.

I think what we meant was WI instead of an uprated IC.

Charge cooling theory memory lapse...

Doing away with the IC is a nice move, it's in such an impossible place for anything anyway. The drop in the charge temp on the CC is probably enough for running 15+psi without additional water injection.

I would not consider getting the upgrades Jimlad has suggsted without serious thought on charge temps - is WI up to the job?

The ST205 was rated at 10bhp more than the Rev3 MR2 just down to the CC ..

WI (With a methanol mix) will defore help with the charge temps .. I'd expect you to be able to really take the michael after fitting both ..

Just be carefull not to melt owt....

yeah thats what I meant lol,

Ur gonna b runnin the WI with the standard intercooler until you get this CC kit.

If i`m getting an uprated intercooler is there any point in me getting the CC kit?, should I just get WI to aid the greddy IC?

Im confused now, too much coolin and charge coolin and intercoolin.....ugh :(

You can go EITHER CC or IC ..

and you can add WI to either ..

Get the chargecooler instead of the intercooler. Even an uprated intercooler won't perform THAT much better than stock. They can't be much bigger due to the limited space.

Water injection will help you keep on the right side of detonation, so if you're planning on running higher boost, further ignition advance and so on and so forth, it may be worth going for one of the ERL WI systems as well.

and adding Methanol to the WI kid ups your octane of your petrol ;)

Didn't know that... do now. Cheers Bibbs.

They always say you learn something new each day... for a minute I thought I wouldn't today. ;) :P

I suppose it makes sense!

I wouldn't get the greddy IC... they have bene proven to be not that much better than stock. Considering the price, not worth it.

I would go WI at the moment, should do fine.

RichB.... if I went the big turbo route etc, etc.. WI alone should be sufficient enough to keep everything nice... but the CC will be even more nice.... plus it's something I don't have.. lol. So might as well get it ... :)

I'm a roguesystems test pilot... lol

anything new ??... ME ME !!... I'll buy it ! .. lol

I'm looking forward to taking the michael ... lol :D

If you completely ripped the old IC out - I wonder how one could utilise the space better?

Any chance that the charge cooler will fit on a 4agze??

Ummm possibly, may need a bit of modding though.......

I was going to get the WI to go with the intercooler, but I`ve been told that WI actually made a mr2 lose 40bhp.

I`m so confused.

Just get all 3? better call the bank manager lol

Ok cool I will wait until I see your pictures mate

With a bit of modding I reckon a lot of 4agze owners who have not gone the front mount IC route will be after one

Cheers
