Hi,

I am looking to further mod my T - Sport. So far I have a custom made cat back from Powerflow, with general body modifications/additions.

My next aim is to add a high flow/performance catalytic converter and exhaust manifold, lower the car with some Eibach springs, get a Typhoon induction kit, and eventually have an aftermarket camshaft kit fitted.

Does this sound the most likely way of gaining any added BHP? By adding an aftermarket ECU to the above, what would you estimate the overall BHP outcome would most likely be?

Thanks,

Anywhere from 210-230 with all that but I think it will be expensive and problematic.

Exhaust manifold will be about £800 minimum and that's if you can find one and ECU would cost £1500+ and would need mapping by someone who knows what they are doing.

I have read that stage 2 cams work quite well with the standard ECU, not much out right bhp gain but really helps with lack of torque low down that our car's suffer from.

I have a Apexi power-intake as well as a cat back exhaust, the metal pipe where the maf sensor is housed gets very hot and definitely saps the power on warm days so would imagine the metal intake on the Typhoon would cause the same issue (I have a cold air pipe running up from the bottom front part of the grill as well).

You'd have to invest crazy money to get decent BHP out of them... Plus the engine runs fairly close to its limits out of the factory.

210 - 230 BHP? That little?

I know a place which makes and fits custom manifolds and he said something about it giving it more high end power, as I think this is where the T - Sport is let down. If I remember vaguely, he quoted me around £600. Powerflow fit the high flow catalytic converter for not much more than £200.

Acceleration in gears 1 and 2 is fast, 3 is OK, but the car I feel is let down in the rest of the gears.

It's either the mods or sell the T - Sport for a faster car, which would be a shame.

Plus, I need to get my heater matrix replaced before winter, as I have it bypassed at the moment.
