Hello guys, my name is Serban, I am from Romania and my wife’s car is a Toyota RAV 4 DCAT 2.2 L Diesel 177 HP form 2007 (mileage 220,000km).

I am having the following problem: two weeks ago, my wife forgot to refuel  the tank and we’ve driven some distance using the “reserve fuel” from the tank.

After few kilometers, the car loose power, won’t  accelerate more than 1500-2000 rpm.

I went  to the mechanic and he told me that the problem is the turbocharger -  oil spilled in the area - cannot be refurbished

I bought a second hand one from another RAV4 2012, same engine, 60.000 km mileage, fully functional, as per seller story.

Here began headaches  :  after “uploading” the SH turbocharger,  the car is no longer accelerating, the mechanic  discovered that EGR was blocked and he managed to solve this problem, but one related to lack of acceleration and power, failed.  He said that there are not light sensors on, everything seems ok.

I asked him to go check tomorrow  the  SH turbocharger, if is 100% functional, to a local turbocharger specialized workshop.

Now, I do not know if the whole story has something linked to the  "low fuel" episode, but I suspect the following:

-   the SH turbocharger is not good

 -  ECU requires rewriting the software to recognize SH turbocharger ( I admit that I didn't checked if the turbine SH has the same code as the original one, but I guess that the mechanic already verified). But still wonder, if the software will be rewrite, other sensors will not light up on board ?....

If you have any advice, or yopu faced up a situation like this, plese let me know, much appreciate.
