I have a 1997 Corolla with 1.6L engine, automatic transmission, approx. 180,000 miles. The neutral safety switch is starting to fail intermittently. I am trying to find instructions for replacing it, but first I need to identify the transmission in my car. Can someone tell me how to find which transmission I have? Then, how do I replace the switch? And, does anyone have a schematic for the wiring on this switch? I want to check the wiring before actually replacing the switch. Thank you.
