Yaris cooling fan

How long should it be after driving that the cooling fan kicks in usually? Can't remember the last time I heard it come on whilst driving, i've even parked up with the bonnet up leaving the car idle for 10 minutes. Still nothing. The engine can't be over heating though because I don't get any warning lights on the dash, the coolant resorvoir is still near full too. Checked the fuse and it's fine.

I would say everything is fine, it's more the case when you hear it, then worry. The modern cars seem to be like pc's and then fans turn on and off.

The fans are probably there to compensate for insufficient airflow, as radiators are larger and may have 2 fans.

On one of our previous cars, when we heard the fan. It turned out that one of the hoses had failed and we had lost all the coolant.

I've never heard my fan turn on except when I'm stationary and have the aircon on; If I turn it off or start to move it stops again!
