hi guys, iv had a bearing changed on my aygo 2008, and he broke my abs sensor, I have replaced this twice but still have the abs light on my dash, any idea how to remove the light (and don't say take out the light bulb) I have been under the car and looked down the abs hole but can not see any obvious abs ring.

The wheel bearing contains the ABS sensor pick up, there is no separate ring, what part did your Man fit was it a whole hub unit or a hub repair kit? as it shouldn't be possible to get a hub unit without ABS as all Aygo had ABS as standard.

first of all thank you kindly for getting back to me, I bought the bearing on its own from eBay priced at £14.00 as there was a whirling sound coming from the N/S front wheel and automatically thought it was the bearing, so got the guy to fit the bearing I bought off eBay just to find out that it did not cure it and now it has a abs light on my dash. So was told off TOYOTA garage that the sensor ring was built into the drive shaft, so bought a new drive shaft and fitted it, abs light still on, so was thinking it can only be the abs sensor as the guy that fitted the wheel bearing said that he broke the abs sensor, as they tend to rust in and can not be removed without breaking it, so I ended up drilling this out of the hub and fitting the new one, but still I have a abs light on my dash, what you have said makes sense as I looked at the hub when it was off, and the tip of the abs sensor when inserted into the hole sits snugly just behind the bearing. Is it possible that the bearing fitted is in the wrong way round or is not compatible, also I know its a lot to ask but, should the abs light go off when this problem is fixed or has it got to be taken off with the OBD at a garage, thank you for the reply

regards jimmy

Sorry don't know why but i assumed it was a rear wheel bearing you had done hence the "hub unit" as the rear bearing/hub come as a complete assembly, had i realised it was a front bearing my first guess would have been the bearing has been fitted the wrong way around as only one side of the bearing will contain the pick up ring and the Toyota bearing is marked as to which side the rotor is facing and the instructions to ensure the rotor is fitted facing inwards otherwise the ABS system will malfunction.
