when I recieve some calls, why do a hear a guys voice saying press hash to accept?

Could it be a reverse charge call?

Or someone trying to sell you something?

so I press hash, the message repeats, press hash again, and again, then the call cuts out

this time they left their caller ID

but when I called it was a recorded message

it's a popular scam - don't accept messages from numbers that aren't your voice mail..

and certainly don't follow the instructions.

thing is once youve pressed it and accepted it, theres nowt you can do about it!
