D4d no start signal! For first start of the day!

Hi all,. Just been looking over my start up data on tech stream and have noticed on the first failed starts there is no start signal, is the start signal what tells the ecu to start up or a message to say the car has already started? The start signal is when the starter is turning the engine over surely?? And on my first start up of the day no start up signal is showing but the car tries to start and shows engine speed at 6/700 rpm. What would cause a lack of start signal?? Could it be a relay? And if so why only when the engine is cold or stood a while?

A faulty ignition switch wouldn't be unheard off on a T25 Avensis

Would it be coincidence it only seems to happen the first start of the day? I can only go by the data but the 3 failed first starts in the morning all show no start signal on techstream, but an increase in engine speed and injection volume and fuel pressure and then dies and doesn't start, I will repeat again tomorrow and see what happens...

Just a thought but the engine is turning over so it can't be the switch.  I guess I need to know what start signal means on techstream
