Annoying Exhaust Rattle

I have a bit of a problem with my stainless steel exhaust. When accelerating it makes a nasty rattling noise which seems to be coming from the exhaust knocking against the heat shield. A mate of mine said he had the same problem with his *cough* renault 5 . He said he just chopped the heat sheild off with tin snips.

Im not really sure about doing this any ideas guys?

depends on where the heat shield is! Don't remove it if its by the fuel tank.

have u tried bending it out of the way? has the exhaust been fitted correctly?

I had exactly the same problem with the scorpion system on mine. Simple alignment problem took half hour to sort out. BTW check the mounting rubbers. If they`re too spongy they can allow the pipe to move about too much. Not a lot of free space under there. :D
