If any one wants pistons and rods for turboing or NA tuning ELPrototypes in Cali USA can do them cheaper than it would be in the UK and in a shorter period of time, UK time for custom pistons is 14 weeks, ELP can have them to your door in 5 weeks.

there website is down so

contact them at:

ELProto@aol.com

Tell them Nick told you about internals

yes they can ...but the inside of the yaris block has a special coatin i think its Nickacil and it all needs to be re-coated etc if you oversize . its a lot of work basically

Got to say, the similarities between the 1NZFE/2NZFE and motorcycle engines just keep stacking up:

1) oversquare (more bore than stroke, revs better)

2) nikasil coated cylinders

3) chain-driven cams

Yeah, my bike engine revs to 8500rpm before the limiter, and the race version revs to 10,000rpm!

That's a bore'n'stroke of: 78mm x 67.2mm

Compression ratio of: 9.6:1

Compare that to the 1.3 Yaris 2NZ-FE: 75mm x 73.5mm

Compression ratio of: 10.5:1

Okay, the stroke is 5mm longer, but I reckon it could still rev to 7,500rpm safely... I don't know - but it makes sense!

That is one oversquare motor!

67.0mm x 42.5mm and 15,500rpm rev-limit... proper little screamer!
