steering click

hi all i have one loud clicking sound when i turn wheeels to full lock( both ways ) i am told this is common and is not a problem but i am a bit concerned as it has never happened before in the 4 years i have had my car the click happens when moving and standing still.cheers all comments appreciated

Check the power steering fluid level and also check for any leaks if it is low.  I was going to suggest it could be the CV joints... but as you also get the clicking when stationary, then probably not.  Unfortunately, some power steering systems do start to click on full lock with age even if their is nothing visibly worn and the levels are OK.
