Hi Yaris Hybrid owners.

Should my Yaris (2015 model) Hybrid have one or two rear fog lights.

Also, when I switch on the rear fog light/s, the moment the switch is

released, the switch reverts back to the position of 'front fog lights on' only.

Is this operation mode normal ?  If so, what is the purpose of the rear fog lights ?

Regards. - Jeff ramble

Hi,

Should be only one fog light.

When you try the rear fog lights, is the headlights on?

Just asking to eliminate thing minor things

Because people often turn the rear fogs on and then forget them many cars have systems to ensure that they are turned off when the other lights are turned off - it may even be a requirement nowadays. (On our older Yaris I think it's a mechanical action on the stalk). Sounds like your switch acts like a pushbutton which turns them/it on and then they'll go off when the other lights are killed, and maybe if you turn the switch again.

You could have a look in the manual of course.

In the EU legally manufacturers are required to fit one rear fog light on the offside of the vehicle.

Often manufacturers 'balance' the rear light clusters by fitting a reverse light on the nearside to correspond with the position of the fog light.

As regards the switch -

On

1. Turning the switch from the 'solid dot' to the light symbol, turns the fog light on.

2. Release the switch, the fog light will be on, and the switch will return to the previous position

Off

1. Turning the switch from the dot to the light symbol, will then turn the fog light off.

2. Release the switch, and the switch will return to the previous position.
