Housing above DRL bulb is overheated and melted!!!

Problem exists for owners whose full warranty is close to expiration!!!

Official dealers do not recognize any extended additional warranty periods!!!

If from your profile, you reside in Oxfordshire UK, and the car was supplied new by Toyota GB, your car will be covered by the 5 year/100,000 mile new car warranty.

If the car was bought new outside the UK, it will have come with the 3 year/60,000 mile new car warranty - so your car will be outside its new car warranty.

Have you purchased an extended warranty?

problem for owners with extended warranty (over 3 years) is not recognized by dealer

just a kind notice to owners - to timely address warranty claims in case they have the problem (usually seriously melting occurs, when approaching 3 years - checked with a few cars)

A UK supplied Toyota bought new since 1st July 2010 will have a 5 year/100,000 mile new car warranty.

Most manufacturers used LED's for DRL's. If I had DRL using standard bulbs on my car, I would be looking to changing the bulbs to LED, if possible. The option would be to switch off or disable the DRL function to reduce situation. We know that LED's run cooler, as well as less heat.

Mike said it above, the OP will be covered since his car is 3 years old, unless the car has exceeded  100,000 miles. He needs to try another dealer and complain.
