The Grand Tour, episode 1

01.15 - just watched the first episode of The Grand Tour.

Better than the first episode of Top Gear with Chris Evans. Had the three supercars that the BBC couldn't test together - Ferrari LaFerrari, Porsche 918 and the McLaren. Bit of fairly stilted comedy around celebrities and the RAF.

Unlike Top Gear, where I only watched the one episode of last series, I will be watching The Grand Tour for the rest of season 1.

Is it just Top Gear pre-Evans but without the Top Gear branding?

The opening sequence was quite spectacular, and certainly much more so than the BBC could manage. The three presenters in Mustang Rockets, acrobats, vehicles of all types, aerobatic display team, etc.

Described in the Telegraph today as 'Top Gear on steroids', which pretty much sums it up, and 'blowing Top Gear out of the water'.

It wasn't bad; same old really I thought. Other than the large amount of Americans on it wasn't bad...
