1999 Clutch Replacement

1999 Corolla Manual

Anyone done a clutch replacement. I'm from the US and found our forums worthless.

Hoping to have a little better luck here.

I am a decent mechanic with a good set of tools. Everything I have read says the dealer would charge me $1100 US Dollars. Parts are less than $300. 

Should I have a go?

Fairly sure oldcodger did this to his Corolla. I think your 1999 Corolla might be different from the European ones however.

I did my own clutch on my manual gear change 2006 UK Corolla, though not sure how similar it will be to your model, think many US ones had much larger engines and auto boxes ?

If you see my post , there is a pdf of how I did it in the first entry, with extra links to some ytubes of others doing a clutch change.

What make it an resonable diy job is if you can drop the gearbox without having to drop the exhaust and sub frame etc
