Noticed An Odd Connector Block In My Engine Bay

Hi All,

I had to change my sidelight bulb on our t27 2010 2.0 diesel earlier today aswell as a number plate bulb...interesting how both went...however whilst under the hood...now i wish i knew how to upload a photo on here from my  samsung phone to my ipad but i dont sadly...anyway...facing the engine bay...left hand side...you have the washer fluid resevoir...look below it...you will see what looks like an electrical connection block...but its not connected to anything...its quite a big one too...it has what looks like two spongy inserts instead of any connector type things to the front of it...infront of the connector is a white label with a big J on it and other smaller bits of info...i think this is the best that i can describe my query...

I wonder what its for??? It sits there looking lost, first ive ever seen it.

Any ideas lads???

Possibly the outside temperature sensor.

I thought of things like parking sensor or cruise control radar, but I seem to have the same connector. I tried to take photos but it is a little tight with the camera I used.

I assume it is the connector with the white cable into the yellow seal.

Hi Konrad,

Thank you for your input matey, and for taking the trouble to upload some pics, any idea how i could upload photos from a Samsung phone to an i pad?

Looking at your pics...i dont seem to see anything that resembles a connector block looking thingy. The connector in question on my vehicle sits flat in the open right next to washer fluid resevoir and its easy to see...its definitely tied up with a wiring harness...but it makes sense what you said...may be it is some sort of sensor!

There is something called photosync, its available on android, windows, mac and iOS. it lets you choose what you want transfer to another device.

There's no need to use the ipad. Photos can be uploaded directly to Photobucket from your Samsung. Then input a post plus a link to the image using only your handset. (you may need to submit the post first then copy/paste the link as an edit).
