Helo everyone

I have toyota corolla 2010

I am facing a confusing problem

My car is making a hissing sound or a sound like sucking an air 

I think its orignated from throttle body

One mechanic told me to clean the throttle body and change plugs

Please note that the fuel consumption increased alot since this issue arised 

Please give me some good feedback what to do

This is the UK based forum and our Corollas stopped production in 2006/7 and became the Auris.

So we do not know what country you are in and what model of engine they have in yours, is it petrol or diesel and what cc ?

I would be checking the basics first like the air filter, is it dirty / blocked ?

I changed the filter yesterday and the problem presists.

The Corolla continued in production as the saloon - effectively the saloon equivalent to the Auris. Currently the same size wheelbase as the Avensis and Prius. Built in Turkey for the European market, but not imported into the UK presumably due to saloons being far less popular in this market segment than hatchbacks, and being too close in size to the Avensis. For example it is sold in Ireland and was the 4th best seller there in 2015 (Ireland also has a van version of the Auris).
