Has anyone fitted any DRLs to a Mk1. I'm wondering where the best place is to pick up the ignition live from and should it be put through a relay?

Thanks

Found it. You can use an unused fuse hole that wakes up with the ignition if you have one, or piggy back the live wire from an ignition live peg on a relay such as the fuel pump.

I'm pretty certain DRL's are supposed to go off when your lights go on.

The reasoning behind daylight running lights is to improve the visibility of the approach of one's vehicle to others  - pedestrians, other drivers, etc. Which is why, legally, they are only fitted to the front.

They should turn off when the side/position lights are turned on.

That's right. They come with a box of tricks that does all that for you.

All you have to do when fitting them is find an earth, ignition live, side light feed and indicator feed as they also flash orange when the turn signal is activated.

Lovely jubbly.
