Smelly Cabin

Recommended Posts

Recently purchased 1999 Avensis Sol 1.8. Previously owned by smoker & dog lover. Interior of cabin reeks. Already valeted once since purchase. Also started up car this morning and very moldy damp smell emitted from front right air vent. Disappeared once air con was switched on. Weather fine and sunny.

Any solutions?

you most likely have fungus built up in the a/c system. Thats why people are meant to run the ac once a month at least even in winter. To get rid of it you'll need to get some gas which you spray into the a/c system intake and voila its gone. I dunno where you can get such gas from though im afraid, am looking for the same stuff myself, hopefully it comes in an easy to use can type thing!

Find someone that sells Comma or Forte products, they both do it so any motor factor or garage should stock it, though a garage might be a bit reluctant to sell it unless they do the job
