Toyota Celica grinding noise on cold start up

About 5 months ago i took ownership of a Toyota Celica T Sport GT. Nice upgrade from my 140.

On a cold start up about 60% of the time, i am getting a grinding noise which lasts for a couple of seconds. Once the noise is gone the engine sounds and runs absolutely fine. I thought at first it might be the oil, as i wasn't sure what type was put in previously. So i drained the oil put a new filter in and put in 5-30W. Didnt hear the noise for a couple of days however this morning in London it was -1c and once again the noise was back.

I uploaded a video of the noise here.  https://youtu.be/xkX0f6cyH3w

Any help would be appreciated :)

Hi Shenren
It sounds like the starter engine. A few months ago my GT developed a similar sound on cold startup. When it was warm outside the noise did not occur. In my case the problem was a faulty starter engine. A small amount of free play on the gear was present, possibly combined with slow starter gear-flywheel disengagement, made it rattle. I bought a new one for about 80 euro's.
If unsure, let someone else start the car while you check for starter engine vibrations by hand or listen to it with a stethoscope of long screwdriver placed on the starter to pinpoint the sound.
Hope this helps.
