1.8vvti 05 plat avensis wont start

Ok so I went to start the car and nothing! radio works lights etc just wont start no clicking nothing  tried jumping it and changed the Battery now the central locking wont work from fob. Was going to try and bump it but didnt see the point any ideas??

It sounds like the ignition switch. I had the same with my old Mk1. The Battery is fine, all electrics are okay just the starter is not active.

The part costs between £45 - £65 from Toyota, but you may be able to source it cheaper on the 'net. 

It is a little fiddly to change, but I changed mine in 20 minutes with practice - tried to repair the old switch, and also bought one from another source but it was not correct for the car.

The switch is located at the base of the ignition barrel, held with a couple of screws on the underside. The actual key barrel does not need to be removed, just remove the switch. The column covers need to be removed, but I have not touch a Mk2 T25.
