Are Sensors Necessary With A Camera?

My Gen 3 also had sideways facing sensors that were used for the "self parking" facility. I believe it was these sensors that generated the information that fed the dynamic route lines that showed on the display.

Bendy guidelines are generated by software in the head unit.

Static guidelines are 99% of the time built into the camera.

The cheapy camera I used on my gen3 prius cost all of £15 from Amazon and had built in static guide lines.  Rather than do a camera swap on the plugin, i put some static guide lines on the head unit using coloured stickers.

Yup, The T&G Plus in the 2012 Prius+ didn't have the lines either.
