Hi there,

Unfortunately my car got scrapped by another car and it has left a scratch like the attached photo.

Anyone know how much it would cost to repair this and what are my choices please?

Thanks

I had some work done on my Auris recently. Rear door (same one) and wheel arch. Quotes from 200 for paint only to 600 including dent removal etc. Went with Chipsaway at 280+VAT (dent removal and paint, there was a slight dent in the wheel arch area and the swage line in the door had gone.

They seem to charge by the panel - 140 + VAT per panel. This is in Birmingham - may be different elsewhere. Needed to pay extra for the stone chip guards - sourced these myself from "Parts-King" on here at about 10 -12 pounds each - one on door, one on wheelarch.

Can't fault the finished job or the service from my local guy. Picked up car one morning returned it back the following evening, no extra charge.

Who should I go to for this type of work?

Can a garage do it or is it better to go to a specialist?

You say the car is Scratched, but are there any dents ?  - hard to tell from the photo.

If no dents I would first try some scratch remover like T Cut and a lot of elbow grease to see how deep the scratches are, eg if its down to the undercode or bare metal ?

Chances are a lot damage is just to the top coat and it will run and polish out...?

If you need a proper repair, can you mention the more local area of London you are in and someone might know of a good paint shop nearby.
