Hello everybody,

                              So after 136,000 miles my mk1 yaris D4D has finally developed a mechanical problem. The head has started to crack and it loses power at about 2,700rpm. It was with an extremely heavy heart that after 7 years of reliable motoring I have let her go cheap and invested in a newer model. The turbo in the D4D made it a beast!!!! I surprised quite a few people in bigger cars with its acceleration and go-kart cornering!!!

So anyway I have upgraded to a 2008 yaris SR 1.3 Petrol and again I have fallen in love. It only has 40K on the clock (all checked and genuine) and looks brand new inside and out and handles ridiculously well.

So I'm gonna look through the forum in a bit to answer these next questions but if anyone reads this and knows then please feel free to chat;

*is there a jack plug behind the stereo/nav unit as my HTC phone won't connect via USB for mp3 (TBH the nav/stereo is the only thing that let's the car down as it looks as though it's from 1999)

*is the manufacturer's head unit a standard double din in dimension or is it a bugger to fit replacement? (any extra cages, fixtures, fittings etc)

*are the front door Speakers 6.25inch ?

*are there any quick/cheapish upgrades to the engine? Air filter, spark plugs etc. My ambition is to tune it up as highly as possible in the future but for now finances only allow for quick mods.

Hopefully speak soon. Peace
