Hi i have recently bought I Toyota yaris t sport on a 2001 reg it is a Japanese import it has been stationary for a year and a half and I have wanted to get it back on the road as a little project because its already had quite a lot of work done to it, so it has been in the garage for quite some time I have had the clutch changed still looking for a gear linkage and other t sports have different gear linkages as I went to test the car it knocked out on me whilst I was doing about 30 mph and all the lights turned off I tried jumping it because I was in speed and that didn't work, so after pushing it to a side I bought a jump pack and attached it and it started but as soon as I removed the black cable the car would turn off after a few attempts smoke started rising from the engine??? so I was wondering what the issue is?? as I have never experienced this before p.s. the mechanic arranged the wiring under the bonnet if ts due to that thanks for your help looking forward for some advice
