cold start problems

hi my 04 rav4 d4d is a pig to start in the mornings but starts ok the rest of the day  i have replaced the glow plugs and relay and still no joy 

my problems started just after i replaced the fuel filler pipe so i am now thinking it might be dirt in the system have changed the filters and still no joy 

has any one any ideas thanks

How does the primer on top of the filter body feel, is it firm? it should take a few pumps then get quite hard to press if it is soft and remains so when pumped it suggests your primer has failed and fuel is running back the the tank meaning the car will crank for ages before the car will start.

it is not soft is stiff to pump but dosent go rock hard .

thank you devon for your imput i gave the primer a few pumps this morning before i tried to start the jeep and she fired up straight away so there must have a bit of dirt in it or the diaphram must be damaged either way it will need looked at
