P0400 2007 avensis 2.0d4d

Hi

I recently changed all the filters and oil along with the egr valve.

The egr valve was a new one and once it was fitted, the car was very Jerky and the engine light came on along with the trc and VSC lights.

Code was P0400 - egr malfunction.

I then put the old one in and the car was back to normal. However, what happens now is that the engine, trc, vsc lights come on when the car is started in the morning. It remains on until the engine temperature is warm. When I switch off the car and turn it back on after a couple of minutes, all lights go off.

When driving with the lights on, there is no change to the drive, no jerking, no smoke. It drives as normal.

I would prefer to fit the new one in but it seems to cause jerking.

Any ideas on what can be the issue?
