Programming a new master key for Avensis 2010

I have bought an Avensis with only 1 master key and I'm trying to program a new master key.

I tried different fobs and no one seems to work. Buying a second hand will work?

I read in different forums that it can be fully programmed with a series of opening/closing driver's door but I couldn't.  Has anyone programmed the key (transponder chip) or a key programmer was needed?

I am talking about a 2009+ car.

As far as I know the key inside has written 89071-05020, pointing to a 344Mhz fob with transponder ID70 (with page 1 code 33, 53 or B3 to make it master).

Any help is welcomed!!!!

Hi, welcome to the forum

Do you have Touch to Start?

The more info that you can give us (engine, transmission, Trim level etc.) about your car the better.

Is a normal key (not smart) and the car is an Avensis Tourer 1.8 2010 MK3... not facelift, engine 2ZR-FAE.

I know in 2009 they have changed the transponders but depending the website is a 4D67-6F or a 4D70-6F.

Hope this helps...

I would enquire with Toyota or an auto locksmith, and do it asap!

Did you get the wallet containing handbook, service record, key details, and spare keys (grey courtesy key as well as the obviously missing second remote key). That is what  I received with my car. The key number makes it easier to obtain a replacement. Check everything you got with the car. Also you should have locking wheel nut key!

I take it you got the car cheaper due to having only one key?

If the second key is missing, when you get the replacement, the missing key will be wiped (the locksmith will/should advise you on this) to stop it being used if in the wrong hands!

Lots of cautions !!!, but car security is important. Don't lose your only key, as it will be something like £1000+ instead of £200+!:shocking:
