Can someone check my math. Fuel consumption seems incredibly for Hybrid

Just did a long distance (non motorway) drive in my Hybrid.

Before settling off filled tank to max. Drove total of 590km. Refilled tank to max - took 27 litres.

So 590 / 27 = 21.85 Miles per Litre

Putting that into mpl to mpg conversion website is giving me 99.3mpg which really seems way too high. I certainly wasn't hypermiing and drove at normal traffic speeds over a mix of A roads, duel carriageways and country roads. The route was Pembrokeshire to Merseyside. Obviously I'm impressed but I just can't believe those numbers but I also can't find out where my mistake is (if one exists it's because I'm brain fogged from the long haul)

Thanks

Miles travelled = 366.6. Fuel bought - 5.939 gallons. 61.72 miles per gallon

Cheers that's much more realistic. The car computer was showing 68.7mpg. Obviously it's my maths that need work

As Mr Frosty says 61 is correct.

To keep track of your MPG you could use a website like fuelly and can view your usage over the year, so you can see how seasons impact your fuel usage.

The car usually is over optimistic, but close enough

I just booked myself into a basic maths course !

Nonetheless 61mpg impressed me as car has under 800 miles total and trip was on cold wet / damp winter roads not using eco mode and still figuring out best driving techniques for Hybrid. Come the warmer weather that should improve somewhat. It's just my math skills that need attention ‼

thanks Mr Frosty et al

If your not using eco then your not doing bad.

Does using Eco mode make a worthwhile difference to mpg ? I assume it comes at some loss of performance. The manual isn't very clear

My personal opinion is that it is slower to accelerate, but I find if I stamp on the pedal it will still shift quickly enough for me. One of the others on here never uses eco but never gets as much out of a tank as I do.

Upto 100 miles difference.

Thanks for that info. I'll give Eco a go [emoji4]

On the Yaris, we never change from Eco. On the Auris I have only used per about 3 times and that's only been for less than minute.
