Pretty much know the front seats are common on the Corollas getting stuck, anyhow mines stuck doesn't slide back or forth just stuck in one place,is this a diy jobby I can do myself, anything I should know before removing drivers seat or disconnecting Battery so air bag light doesn't pop up,any guides on how to replace or whats snapped, sorted out most of the other issues on the motor just this last step now, appreciated any input thanks

The very small piece of round metal that is used to engage, and disengage, the seat moving mechanism will have snapped off.  You will probably find the small piece....say about 5mm long and about 2mm diameter rolling around the floor somewhere...I did.  The piece of metal is woefully inadequate for the job in hand.

You can, if you have the tools, weld a better piece back on but it is a pita.  Best to buy a new seat base from Sam Nadeem (look on Facebook) or get a complete seat from a scrappy.  Taking the seat out is pretty easy...two bolts at front and two at back.....just as long as the seat hasn't stuck covering the two bolts at the front.  Then disconnect the electric cables underneath the seat and take it out.  Pretty easy to separate the base from the rest of the seat and replace with new base.  Then seat back into car bolt it down, connect up electrics and all should be fine.  I had no problems with air bag lights etc and did not disconnect the Battery but maybe worthwhile doing that anyway just in case.

This was on a 2004 T Sport and suspect yours will be the same, if not identical.

Hope this helps.
