I have just finished the test drive and will be picking it up in a couple days. The car is completely stock and has 110,000 miles on the clock. The car has lots of minor scratches but drives great.

I plan to do an oil change and renew the pollen filter when I first get it. I would like to add coilovers in the future although there are lots of speed bumps where I live so it may remain stock.

Is there anything I should be looking out for? Any advice on new part suggestions or maintenance would be appreciated.

Brakes are a weak spot.....would suggest one of the first things you do is replace all disks, pads, slider pins, parking brake shoes etc unless they have been done before and very recently.  Also check both seats slide back and forwards as the pins braking on them is also a weak spot. The parking break is pathetic as well but replacing everything as above will help.

Replace the gearbox oil as well.

Other that those points the car is pretty solid.....it is a Toyota after all.  Regular oil changes keep it sweet.

I am planning to do the brakes as soon as possible, just need to find the right parts which is taking some time.

Also does anyone know what oil filter I need? The car did not come with the handbook and websites like eurocarparts are showing me two different sizes of filter for my car. Thanks

Hiya mate. Good looking Rolla, nice colour too.

Pretty much what the others have said really!

If you check on my thread I've recently done all the brakes, major service, fluids etc. So you might find some info on they're. I won't go on about parts n stuff but if you want any websites etc just give us a shout.

To be fair though there's loads of people on here that can help you. They have helped me loads 👍

Better off getting a genuine filter from Toyota, not worth the risk with pattern filters.

Going to buy this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/321784169077 - Do you know if the filter comes with a sump plug/washer?

Need to spend £30 for free postage, anything else I should get from the official toyota store?

This is where I bought my oil filter and Plugs from. Only took a day to arrive too. Top quality service and parts. I admit I bought the blitz oil filter and the trd Plugs but they fitted just the same.

Cheers, time to say goodbye to my wallet. I'm trying to do most of the servicing myself although I have never done it before. Will probably end up going to the mechanics haha

Oil changes are easy.  Agree with doing regular oil changes and to that effect buying an expensive oil filter probably not worth it unless you buy a reusable one first time out.  Plugs are easy as well.  Lift bolts as well.

http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/

Use that site to get correct Toyota part number for each and every piece...then use that as a cross reference for getting non OEM parts but as others have said Toyota parts are worthwhile looking at.

No you will need to order the sump plug washer seperately, it doesn't come with the filter.

Just order a few filters and sump plug washers, will save ordering for future oil changes. You could also order a pollen filter, it often gets overlooked.

I'd recommend doing the gearbox oil. Just done mine and it was well worth doing! Still the big gaps in gear changes but a hell of a lot smoother👍

Got some stuff at Halfords, just realised they gave me the wrong bulb as one of my brake lights is out. Also ordered oil and pollen filter from Toyota, just realised I ordered the wrong sump plug gasket as well... When I was driving home I noticed the Traction Control / VSC lights were on... uh oh. Not the best of starts but definitely a learning process.

After oil change I plan to do the gearbox oil and then new brakes. Struggling to find the right parts so I appreciate the links. I have noticed a lot of websites don't have the t-sport as an option when searching for parts.

Also try Brakes International as they have a really good layout and is relatively easy to make sure you get the right parts.

Mind you the first time I did the T sports discs and pads I went to a local motor factor as I knew that if they were wrong (and they were) I could go back and get them replaced on the same day and leave the T Sport, wheels off in the garage.  Then I measured up the new disks and pads so that next time I had all the measurements for the correct parts.

Ha ha wings! Better feed it Red Bull lol.

As above MTec are good. Had these on my Impreza👍

Ik performance. DON'T TOUCH THESE! I did, waste of space.

These were really good when I ordered mine https://www.dcperformance.co.uk/improve/performance-brakes.html

Thanks for the links. Did the pollen filter today, definitely needed it... came with a dead wasp.

Also did my first oil change today, the old oil filter did not want to come off even with the filter pliers. It came off eventually with many holes in it and oil everywhere.

Next on list: gear oil, air filter, brakes

So today I was out for a drive and almost wrecked the corolla. I was doing about 50 when all of a sudden the car lost control and started swerving back and forward across the road, luckily I did not hit anything and there was a place I could pull into on the side of the road. One of the wheel nuts on the back wheels was missing, the stud even snapped off and was missing too. The rest of the nuts on that wheel were also loose. I tightened the 3 nuts that were left and slowly drove home. I said that I wanted to do the work on the car myself but this one will go to a mechanic...

Note to self: Check all wheel nuts are properly torqued after buying a car.

Also, I may have ordered an Apexi intake from japan instead of replacing the panel filter

Glad your ok dude, yeah always double check wheel nuts after any work that involves removing the wheels.

Good shout on the the Apexi, got one myself last year, hopefully you don't get stuck with customs charges like I did, I think it was about £40.

So i finally got my apexi power intake, called my insurance company to get a quote for the new part.

I just told them I was changing the air filter and they said this was an "unacceptable modification".
