Can someone please explain what does the pipe on the left of the EGR does? I recently noticed some oil sprayed on my Battery. I went to my local mechanic who told me that a pipe is missing and put a little pipe that leads to nowhere. So I was wondering can anyone explain what is that hole used for?

Can't really see it but looks like it comes from the intercooler to the "throttle body"
