Crashed 1996 Celica

I found an ad for a crashed 1996 celica. The owner says it has a damaged roof, "halfside", trunk, all windows broken or damaged. The engine and drivetrain is supposed to be in perfect shape (he says the car spent 2/3rds of its life in a garage and crossed only 60000kms), and that it has tricked out spoilers, sideskirts, rims etc... but no a/c installed?!?! :ffs:

He says the accident was something like flying off the hiway and landing on the side/roof or something. he's a stupid redneck, i could hardly understand what he was saying over the phone.

Asking 3500 euros for it, as it is, and he ain't living near, and since gas isn't cheap, is it worth going down and seeing the car for myself? if the chassis of the car is heavily damaged, how much would the repairs cost, and are they worth it?!? i know that only the paintjob is over a 1000 euros for a celica.

advice, comments, .... ?

HERE IN THE UK , FIXING THAT UP I THINK WOULD WORK OUT MORE EXPENSIVE THAN ACTUALLY BUYING 1 THAT HASNT BEEN CRASHED.AS PARTS ARE HARD TO COME BY,AND BREAKERS YARDS CHARGE A LITTLE LESS UNDER WHAT THE DEALERS ASK FOR PARTS.

DONT DO IT!!!!! Its not worth the effort and money. If you already had a Celica that needed mechanical parts then it might be worth buying a CHEAP wreck for spares, this one sounds like thats all its good for. If the main body side is damaged and the roof is out of position then it really could do with a replacement body Shell. From what you describe I wouldn't pay more than 1000 Euros as its only fit for spare parts.
