Code p0400 exhaust gas recirculation flow

Hi I have a toyota auris 2.0 d4d on a 56 plate and engine management light has came on its reading

P0400 exhaust gas recirculation flow anyone know what this is car seems very sluggish.

Hi, it sounds like your egr is clogged up or broken. 3 options really;

You could clean it all out get rid of all the sut and gunk.

You could replace the whole unit

Best option that worked for me, just blank it off completely, rest the code and see how it goes. I did notice the car was a lot more drivable with it blanked off.

How did you blank it off can you buy a kit

Take it off and clean it and simply install a blanking plate in ... Never an issue again ... Clear the codes of you have a OBD reader of not Battery off for an hour

Cheers lads took egr valve off today and cleaned it and put it back together and cleared fault codes and working.
