Avensis T25 Hatch Parcel Shelf String

Hi all, Avensis newbie here.  Been browsing the forum and it is great. 

Just bought a 2008 1.8 TR Hatch and while it has the parcel shelf it doesn't have the string to attach to the tailgate itself. Really annoying with buggy and shopping bags etc!

I have searched in vain on Google, Amazon, eBay and various online parts suppliers. Does anyone know how I can get hold of a pair?

I can't even find generic ones.

Hello Philip - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

Would have thought your Toyota dealer could order them. Could send Parts-King a personal message, detailing your car (reg.no as a minimum) and what you want - he'll come back to you to confirm availability and a price.

Wouldn't bootlaces cut to the appropriate length do the job?

Yeah! Make a loop at the top with a cable tie and that would probably crack it.

Just assumed something would be available online for a couple of pounds.

Call into Toyota look cheap enough. Though you could also call into a breakers yard or buy on ebay
