Heater control unit backlight

Hi I've a 06 Avensis and the bulb behind the heater directional control is not working. I've stripped it and replaced with one I got from MrT but it's still not lighting. Very annoying. The controls are working fine but no light. The other bulbs are working fine it's just that one. Any help appreciated. Also I noticed last night the alarm is activating the indicators intermittently. I've only just bought the car and these little things are doing my head in. TIA

Wa's it the right bulb think 1 of them is grey..is it inserted in right

Yip definitely the right bulb. I had some at home and tried them last night but no joy so that's how I ended up at main dealers this morning. In actual fact I swapped one from one slot over that is definitely working but that didn't light either.  I've put a lot of time and effort into it and I'd love to see it working
