Hi.

What is the electrical item with a brown socket situated opposite the oil filer cap please? I unplugged it with the engine running, revs dropped a bit then recovered but no fault code was registered.

Also, I can't find the MAP sensor. Thought it was supposed to be attached to the bulkhead. Anyone know where it is please?

Do you have the Haynes manual? That covers most of the subjects for your. The manual states the MAP sensor is located below the left-hand side of the inlet manifold. Not sure is if left-hand is from the looking position, or the side of the car.

Try and post some photos - a general one of the area of the engine and a closer photo of the item you mentioned.

"Left" and "Right" are normally defined from being sat in the drivers seat looking forwards.

Here it is, just behind the PCV. Two vacuum tubes, one of which goes to a diaphragm under the intake manifold.
