Yesterday Was A Good Night...

Went down to the snookerhall and thought I would try my luck on the fruit machine with £250 jackpot, put £8 in and it paid out £60, so i now have enough money to afford my Kenwood 7 x 10s for my Yaris which i will be purchasing today!

Couple of questions regarding these kind of Speakers,

1) Do i need to plug them in an amp to use them? If they arent plugged into an amp will they still sound a lot better considering they are something like 320W so will i be able to whack the volume up without getting any distortion (going to use standard headunit in the meantime by the way)

2) Will they work with the standard head unit or will i need to get an aftermarket option or buy a special connector to connect them up to this headunit?

they will run off the OE unit and will improve the system no end

only thing is the head will be extremely laboured and you will risk damaging the internal amp if you try to play it loud.

future upgrade strategy

stage 1 - add 7x10's to OE system

stage 2 - add aftermarket unit (increased sound quality better power for speakers)

stage 3 - upgrade dash and doors to component set Speakers

stage 4 - add 5 channel amp and sub to run the lot

a nice strutcture to a booming system!

pull up the sill panels along the bottoms of the doors (only held on by clips) and run em under there and then tuck them under the rear panels

well they better !Removed! win they definitely have the potential..... but in typical england fashion, play a blinder the 1st half and play totally **** the second half just like in world cup 98, euro 2000, world cup 2002 and now euro 2004!
