Hi , Has any one got any ideas on how to help passengers sliding around on the rear leather seats ? Not ideal when you are going around country lanes etc. Only alternative i can think of is, is replacing them with half suede or fabric, front ones are ok

More consideration for your passengers maybe ??????? They adults or nippers ?

Thought seat belts kept the passengers in their seats

Don't have that problem myself. Am I missing something here as when I drive and I still like to do what could be called making good progress

True of hand-adjusted belts (e.g. lap straps).  But with inertia reel belts, you only have friction through the tongue piece (low because it is smooth to prevent wear) and the spring tension on the take-up spool.  Unless the movement is violent enough to make the inertia reel lock, it's not helpful as a location aid.

I think the only effective measure would be to remove the inertia reel belts and fit hand-adjusted lap-and-diagonals - that's what I had in my 1972 SAAB and they were excellent.  Probably hard to find, now, but perhaps from a specialist?

On mine I think the rear seat belts can lock if they are pulled out to the end when secured and allowed to return. Is that not the case?

Surely hats and scarves as well as socks and shoes allowed in that plan in this weather in the morning

Needlessly masochistic - surely all that is required is velcro patches on trouser seats and the seats
