New Auris - Tyre inflation issue

Hi

The low pressure warning light came on, on my Auris, so I tried to connect my footpump to inflate the tyres, but the connector failed to connect. The pump worked fine on the previous Auris, but will not connect on any of these tyres.

Do they have a new type of connector?

If so anyone know what its called or how you get a footpump that would work?

Keith

should be the same Schrader valve as any other car

imagine if the petrol stations and garages had to have 2 different adapters

1 for the auris and 1 for every other make its not happening.

Just invest a tenner in an electric pump for your 12v sockets. Most/all of them have dumped the old-style clip-on-with-a-lever system in favour of a screw fitting, which is slightly more of a faff but doesn't ping off the valve when you least want it to. Even the cheap analogue ones are good. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Ring-RAC610-Analogue-Inflator-Adaptor/dp/B0030FBSQ2/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1485538486&sr=8-4&keywords=tyre+pumps

I found a few years ago that some foot pumps don't always fit all tyre valves. Especially problematical were a couple of Michelin foot pumps I had. This was before the common fitting of tyre pressure monitoring systems. Don't have any issue with the current i20 or Aygo - both of which have tpms.
