mate of mine is driving an e11 corolla 1.4. he is after puttig a celica manifold,trottle body and injectors into it just wandering what kind of performance differance would it make

Now then Fella, so I had an E12 1.6vvti T3 5speed manual for 6 years and it was a great car only just changed it for another Toyota.

So I did the full change over, TB, inlet, injectors all from the 1.8's Avensis/Celica but the electronic throttle not cable.

After fitting all that plus running a custom cat back exhaust, and a foam induction kit I got the following results from a rolling road.

BHP:-120

TQ: 139.03nm

But one thing never cleared up was until the engine was warmed up the rev kept bouncing up and down between 1000 and 2000, but my mate did the same change on his E11 1.6SR and it never did it but his was a cable throttle.

The guy at the R/R said he thinks on mine as the computer ran everything was it could not workout what was going on when it is using the cold start part of the program.

The jumping only lasts till the cars warm and I have used the car for 1000's of miles with it like that and its fine it just gets on your nerves sometimes but its doing no damage and its a really good mod on either a E11 or E12 plus other cars out there don't like a old corolla beating them through the back lanes lol

Only cost me about £80-100 for the parts and for that power upgrade its a big thumps up from me.

The guy at the R/R said it could be made even better is I had the car on a stand alone ECU.
