Hi Guys,

I just sign up for get advice the problem i have with my Toyota avensis 2008 D4D 2.0 Diesel,

i bought this car last year from Toyota 44000 Miles then now 83000.worked perfect up to now but last week when i checked the antifreeze was low  ,i top up and found later there was a leak on the floor i open the bonnet and saw the reservoir was overflowing.

i checked the intake pipe was hot and the pipe where the thermostat  sits was cold, now in short i changed the thermostat and the water pump is seems working but the problem is still there ,i have spoke to Toyota about to  get extended warranty but don't know when should i can get claim if there is a issue with HG?

tomorrow i might try to change the expansion reservoir cap because i have seen if its not holding the pressure then there will be a leak from reservoir ,

Fans not working but when turn the AC on they spins

Heater works perfectly fine and engine sound look perfect

last 3 services from local garage

Any advise please ?

Hello - welcome to Toyota Owners Club.

See

The goodwill arrangement mentioned in the above thread was for 7 years or 111,846 miles, whichever occurred first. Unfortunately, your car is now outside scope of the goodwill arrangement on age - being over 7 years old.

If you take out an extended warranty, be aware that you also need to have the car serviced by Toyota dealers during the extended warranty period.

sniff test the coolant.

From what you have posted I don't think that we can be sure yet that it is the head/head gasket.

Water pumps on these are known to be prone to leak &  you possibly could have an airlock.
