I deal with personal injury claims for motor accidents and have to deal with many no win fee set ups.

Dont do it! If you win they will take a huge cut of the award. And if you lose you will or very likely end up paying something. ie deposits etc. No such thing in life as free legal advise!

Best thing i would do is use a normal solicitor. They will tell you up front if you have a case or not and if they do they will tell you again how much it will cost etc you will know where you stand and there wont be a ton of small print that you get with no win no fee.

I suggest the following because they cause me hell at work, but if the shoe was on the other foot and i wanted compo id give them a call:

Michael Halsalls of Liverpool

Irwin Mitchell's of Sheffield

Shoosmiths Basingstoke

Wragg and Co Birmingham

They are all large solicitors, i dont know the phone numbers off hand as im at home now. But im sure you would be able to find them on search engines etc

good luck

as far as im concerned, its people like you vmail that are causing car insurance to skyrocket, life insurance to go through the roof, and making smaller buisness close due to being unable to afford the insurance...

This 'i hurt myself, im gonna get loads of money off my employer' really winds me up :ffs:

as for these ambulance chasing *ahem*

You hurt yourself, you deal with it... short of your boss swinging a 2x4 at your head, do you really have any grounds for a law suit?

does hurting yourself in the toilet cubicle count as a claim through the company? :D :D

I got a splinter at work, it has caused me tremendous psychological stress... and i'm not sure i'm going to be able to use the wooden hand rail on the stairs again for fear of a repeat...

£5,000 should rid me of my phobia though!

walked pass the fryer, heater element fell into the oil(faulty) 182Degrees oil splashed on to my arm

some companies say "nothing is taken from the money that you are awarded"

they don't fight your cause for free vmail, perhaps nothing is taken that you are awarded... in which case you will pay them upfront, or agree a percentage of your fee that they will not take.

IIrwin Mitchell's of Sheffield

Thats who are dealing with my accident claim.

Had a car accident back in Jan, car tipped over, been suffering with a bad back since - Irwin Mitchell were appointed through my insurance company.

I dont even know if I'll get anything but as its through my car insurance, its free legal cover!

The other insurance company pays for it! And as they have accepted responsibility then we'll just have to see!

Although I would never trust no-win-no-fee places.... ok so you dont win, you dont pay, but if you do win, they can take as much of your money as they like! And whats the point in that! :D

Where do you work vmail...Maccy D's, the chippy, a lard factory?

LOL :D

I have a real problem with this kind of litigation and compensation culture... If you work in a kitchen you must be prepared to get burnt sometimes. If you eat lots of fatty, unhealthy food then you must realise that there is a high possibility that you will become a lardass... (these are just two random examples and don't necessarily relate to you vmail, I mean them generally)

Pah!

what really wound me up was an advert for one of these 'no win no fee' ambulance chasing :censor: solicitors...

and i quote

"I was given the wrong ladder, and it fell when i was halfway up a house... i got 200,000 pounds compensation"

IF YOU KNEW IT WAS THE WRONG LADDER, WHY THE HELL DID YOU CLIMB IT UP THE SIDE OF THE HOUSE YOU MUPPET :ffs:

And worse, the 'reconstruction' showed no-one holding the bottom of it, and a wooden ladder! :ffs:

I dont work on houses, but know you dont use that type of ladder outside, and especially without support at the bottom!!!

I agree with above, this litigation culture (from the US) is pathetic... you should be ashamed if you are doing this!!!

I mean, what about the people who really deserve compensation?? people who have been disabled, put out of work due to accidents that arnt their fault at all??? your just taking money away from them!!!

It seems we get all the trends from America 5-10 years after they've happened there...

which isn't always a good thing :(

I completely agree though, it's shameful behaviour if you're not seriously injured/suffering

You lot should see my case load at work!

You go through it 1 at a time

"Free loader"

"pikey scum"

"social missfit"

What does my head in is that everyone has whiplash from a minor bump...oh and now the best thing is now they claim that they are scared to get back in a car! :ffs: But go to Alton Towers and throw yourself around at a million G's and see how many claim whiplash then!!! :censor:

Oooo i could crush a grape!

Hope thats not intended for me!

My accident wasn't exactly a minor bump - the car flipped over and it took 3 huge blokes to get me out!

TBH it bothers me more that the other drive wasnt prosecuted than me not getting any form of compensation.... :(

I wasnt scared to get back in a car - whats the point - I spent 1.5 years learning to drive and 4 attempts to pass - I aint gonna let anyone take that away from me! :)

I dont think anyone has an issue with a genuine claim DM, its the freeloaders that are abusing the system that winds us up...

Ditto

i dunno how seroius you car case is vmail, but it is pretty shocking the amount of peopel claiming on such small things.

My grandad, years ago, was following a mini, and the mini was following a jag, down this big hill, the jag didnt know where he was or what he ewas doing. At one point he decided to just STOP. So the mini did - stopped about an inch away from the jag, Then so did my grandad.......there was ice......BUMP - into mini, mini into back of jag.

Obvoiusly he had to pay insurance, the rich gets who owned the jag (and they were rich) claimed whiplash when A) its their fault they got it (he just stopped) nothing ran out in front of him or anything !!) B) they were the third car on, it was only a lil bump!

The mini didnt claim anything becuase they were nice people...

Small Claimers = Scum of the earth, if you have a geniune case go for it. but if its something petty as whiplash.... just leave it, becuase some poor buggger is paying it.
