Interior light only comes on when door open

I've recently had to jump start Toyota Yaris 2001 vvti as not using car much recently.

i discovered today that the interior kightbwill come on when door is opened but not when doors closed and light is needed in closed car.

can anyone help please?

Hopefully you have found the answer yourself now.  You can switch the interior lights on and off manually.  There are switches on the lights. 

With Toyota 2 with Go, you can adjust the timer for how long the lights stay on for.

Dont turn off the timer, or the lights will not come on when the doors are opened.
